EDCMS Catalogue Integration

If Edutorium Course Management System is the "backend", the Academic Catalogue is the "frontend". Fortunately, by intelligent use of webservices and business rules, maintaining the catalogue is very simple: there is no maintenance. All the content is fetched from the CMS, where focus is on readability and oversight, whereas the catalogue is more about user friendly navigation and presentation.

Always in control

In our world, workflow and the act of publishing a piece of content are two different things. The workflow ensures quality of content. When many people are working together, content will be "finished" at different times, but the act of publishing might happen at predefined dates. Setting content as published can be done via bulk operations in our Course Management System.

Always up to date

When changes are made in the Course Management System they are automatically picked up and shown in the Academic Catalogue.

Maintenance free and fast

Navigation is defined by business rules. Menus are populated live as content is made available in the Course Management System. Since the Academic Catalogue is basically a front end without additional content it can be tuned for maximum performance.

They trusted us:

After a frustrating year of trying to get another CMS on the air, it was a great relief to enter into a cooperation agreement with Norweb. Edutorium had most of the systematics and capabilities we needed at BI, and where we needed more, Norweb's developers showed forward-looking and solution-oriented and with a great deal of flexibility. So we ended up with a product that was very well adapted to our processes and workflow
